I'm new to sulfate-free shampoo. Is there a transition period?
Congrats for making the change! Transitioning from sulfate containing shampoos to sulfate free you will notice a difference in the lathering. You will likely be used to lots of lather and suds; sulfate free doesn't offer this same quality. Don't be fooled - the shampoo is working!
We recommend giving yourself at least 2-3 weeks worth of washing to allow yourself to adjust to the sensation and learn how much product is needed. Most people over-pour!

We are always here to help! Please feel free to email us at born@bornnaturals.com if you have any questions.

Why do you formulate your products without SLS sulfates, parabens or silicones?
We do it for you, it’s in the best interest of your hair.

SLS/SLES Sulfates can strip the hair of its natural oils. We want to leave the natural oils as not to dry out the hair.

Silicones are synthetic ingredients made up of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon. They are very commonly used in products to give that feeling of a moisturized slip but in reality, it’s just coating the strands and acting as a filler. Using silicones on a regular basis can cause major buildup weighing down your hair.

Scientific studies suggest that parabens can disrupt hormones in the body, harm fertility and reproductive organs, affect birth outcomes, and increase the risk of cancer. There are several types of parabens; but knowing that they are easily absorbed through the skin and are harmful to your scalp; we chose to keep that out. Parabens can cause a number of problems for your hair including drying, irritating your scalp, fading your colour, and even hair loss.

Do you do animal testing?
Absolutely not and we never will! We are a cruelty-free company.
